WOMEN’S HEALTH AND FAMILY PLANNING

At Waterways Medical Care, we pride ourselves on our extensive women’s health and family planning services.
Some of the women’s health issues we deal with include:

Cervical Checks

CervicalCheck is the national cervical screening programme that provides free smear tests to women between the ages of 25 to 60. Once you are of age, CervicalCheck will send you a letter inviting you to book a smear test with your GP. A smear test detects any changes in the cells of your cervix. If you wish to book a smear test, please call us.

Breast Checks

A breast check involves your GP giving you an examination to determine if there are any irregularities in your breast tissue. If you come across anything in a self-examination that seems out of the ordinary, contact us to book a breast check with our doctor.

Menopause

If you suspect you may be experiencing some symptoms of menopause, feel free to book an appointment with us to undergo an examination. If it is confirmed you are going through menopause, we can provide you with some helpful advice to guide you through the process.

Osteoporosis

Statistically women are more likely than men to get osteoporosis. At Waterways Medical Centre, we can diagnose and offer guidance on the issue.

Depression

There are many unique aspects that contribute to depression in women. It is a condition that women are more prone to than their male counterparts. If you find yourself struggling, we can supply a supportive and understanding environment in which to offer you direction.

Sexual health

Sexual health in women is of the utmost importance. We offer advice on varying women’s sexual health issues such as organ health and STI’s.
